Sugar Bowl, Fiesta Bowl & Cotton Bowl Previews ? Recreation and ...

Louisville vs Florida ? Sugar Bowl ? ESPN 1/2/2012

Mismatches seem to be the expected outcome of the BCS bowl games, with all five BCS games involving a point spread of more than 6 points. Las Vegas believes the biggest mismatch on paper is the Louisville-Florida Sugar Bowl, played on Wednesday, Jan. 2.

The Gators are a 13-point favorite in the Louisville-Florida Sugar Bowl. ESPN ?will televise the Louisville-Florida game from New Orleans at 8:30 p.m. Eastern. And as always will have a crew at the Sugar Bowl to offer analysis and free college football picks on this matchup predicted by their experts

The Louisville-Florida Sugar Bowl should be an interesting match, as Louisville Coach Charlie Strong was previously the defensive coordinator at Florida. Also, even though the Cardinals are the underdog by 2 touchdowns, they?re the only conference champion in the game, as Louisville shared the Big East Conference title with Rutgers, Cincinnati, and Syracuse. Florida was dissapointed to not be in the SEC Championship Game, after tying for the SEC East Division title with Georgia.

Florida finished 11-1, with its only loss against Georgia, 17-9. In the regular season, Florida defeated then-#4 LSU, 14-6; then-#7 South Carolina, 44-11; then-#10 Florida State, 37-26; and current Top 10-ranked Texas A&M, 20-17. The Gators started the season 7-0, and they?ll carry a four-game win streak into the Louisville-Florida Sugar Bowl.

Louisville has a strong record, too, finishing 10-2. However, the Cardinals were 9-0 before upset losses against Syracuse and Connecticut.

Oregon vs Kansas State ? Fiesta Bowl ? ESPN 1/3/2012

?

Among the 2012-2013 college football bowl season, one of the more intriguing offensive matchups has to be the Oregon-Kansas State Fiesta Bowl contest from Arizona. ESPN will televise the Oregon-Kansas State game at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Thursday, Jan. 3.

Actually, in mid-November, Oregon-Kansas State looked like it could be a national championship game matchup. Both Oregon and Kansas State are 11-1 on the season. The Wildcats opened 10-0 and climbed to #1 in the rankings. However, Kansas State fell 52-24 at Baylor in mid-November, costing the Wildcats a shot at the national championship game. Oregon, meanwhile, also was in line to make a run at the national championship game after a 10-0 start. On the same day of the loss for Kansas State, Oregon fell at home to Stanford, 17-14 in overtime.

Oregon is the second highest scoring team in college football, averaging 50.8 points per game. On the other hand in the Oregon vs Kansas State Fiesta Bowl game, the Wildcats are 10th nationally in scoring, with Heisman Trophy third-place finisher quarterback Collin Klein. The over/under for the Fiesta Bowl is 75.5, the second-highest of any bowl game, and Oregon is a 9.5-point favorite.

If you?d like a preview of how the Oregon-Kansas State Fiesta Bowl may go, keep an eye on the Dec. 29 Texas-Oregon State Alamo Bowl game. Oregon toppled Oregon State in its final regular-season game, 48-24, and Kansas State defeated Texas in its final regular-season game, 42-24.

Texas A&M vs Oklahoma ? Cotton Bowl ? FOX 1/4/2012

?

If you?re hoping to watch Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel ? aka, Johnny Football ? tuning in to a BCS bowl game won?t do the trick. Instead, you?re going to want to watch the Texas A&M vs Oklahoma Cotton Bowl game Friday, Jan. 4.

FOX will televise the Texas A&M-Oklahoma Cotton Bowl at 8 p.m. Eastern from Dallas. Texas A&M is a 4.5-point favorite in the Cotton Bowl game. All the top experts will do their best to make college football predictions on this game but all you might have to do is look at past results to determine whicfh team will win.

Both Texas A&M and Oklahoma are 10-2 on the season. The Sooners finished the year as co-champion of the Big XII Conference with Kansas State, but was snuffed on an Orange Bowl berth when Northern Illinois was chosen with its Top 16 BCS ranking. Texas A&M had a very successful first season in the SEC, handing BCS #2-ranked Alabama its only loss of the season behind freshman quarterback Manziel.

Texas A&M has the third-ranked scoring offense nationally at 44.8 points per game, and the Aggies have scored 58 or more points five times. Oklahoma is 12th nationally in scoring at 40.3 ppg, and the Sooners topped the 50-point mark five times.

Texas A&M and Oklahoma were both members of the Big XII until this season and played annually. Last season, the Sooners won at home against Texas A&M, 41-25, while the Aggies won at home against the Sooners in 2010, 33-19.
